If you think computer repair is hard then please read this article. How can an everyday normal computer user possibly know how to repair computers? It is easy and I am going to show you exactly what you need to know in order to get your computer functioning properly, the way you want it to.

Or you can pay a company like Geek Squad, from Best Buy, $350 to come out to your house and do what they call computer repair. (which is more them trying to sell you products then fix your already existing computer issues. I will even tell you about my experiences with them repairing my computer in a later post, you will enjoy it! J

We are going to go through only the things that are a necessity to know, and I promise no confusing talk about how a computer works, or how did it get the point of needing computer repair? These things don’t matter to us. We are doing computer repair the easiest way possible. What matters is improving our current computer situation as it exists at this exact moment, and nothing else.

My computer repair basics will be more than enough to help get 90% of your home computer issues completely resolved so you do not have to stress any more over your computer.

You might be thinking, as I once did when I knew nothing about computers or repairing them, that there is no way in the world you could possibly understand these square mysterious beeping boxes or how they work none the less. Well you can, you just need to know the right information about computer repair, without all the confusing mumbo jumbo. Yes I know I just said mumbo jumbo J

Computer repair techniques are all the same. There are not thousands of computer specialists that invent different and new ways to fix computers everyday. Computer repair techniques have already been discovered or invented, so why don’t we just use other peoples work and research about computer repair, after all its free and legal!.

Ok, now enough with the prep about computer repair and trying to convince you that you are capable of learning the basics and even mastering computer repair basics.

Skip identifying the problem! (not how you learned it in school huh?) Lets not even try to identify a specific problem with out computer yet!

We are going to first do a few basic computer repair things that will solve most computer issues (shhh overpriced Geek Squad doesn’t want you to know all this).

First Guide in Computer Repair

1) Go to the Start Menu and one of the buttons that comes up will be “run.” Click the run button and a small window in the bottom left of your screen comes up.

2) Type “msconfig” (without the quotation marks) in the box inside the window

3) Another window comes up, now go to the tab all the way to the right call “start up”

4) Near the bottom of the window is a button called “disable all” click that button

5) Then click the “apply” button just below the “disable all” button.

6) X out of the window (close the window) and another window pops up. Click the “restart now” option.
